Eastleigh Town Council to Tackle Chewing Gum Litter
16 September 2026
Eastleigh Town Council has kicked off its programme of Councillor Ward Surgeries, giving residents the opportunity to speak directly with their local councillors about the issues that matter to them.
The first surgery took place in the Nightingale and North Stoneham Ward at the YMCA, with Councillors Gaz Richardson, Alex Clifton and Ellie Barwick meeting with local residents.
The evening provided an opportunity for some really useful conversations, with residents sharing their views and raising a wide range of issues affecting the local community.
Topics discussed included:
- πΒ Local bus services, including concerns about routes and reliability.
- πΌΒ Wildflower areas, and how they are managed and maintained.
- β½Β Ball game signage, and how local spaces can work well for everyone.
- π‘Β The development of a nearby care home.
- π²Β Electric bike use, including concerns being raised by residents in North Stoneham.
The ward surgeries are an important way for councillors to listen directly to residents, better understand local priorities and take concerns forward.
Next ward surgery takes place tonight
The programme continues tonight, Monday 14 September, with the Chestnut Ward Councillor Surgery taking place at The Cranbury Community Centre, Cranbury Road, SO50 5HH, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
Residents are invited to drop in, have a chat and share their views with their local councillors.
The surgery will provide an opportunity to discuss the issues that are important to the Chestnut community, including greener, cleaner spaces, supporting young people and safer communities, and resident-led community projects.
If you are unable to attend, residents can still contact their Chestnut Ward councillors by email or contact the Town Council office on 023 8212 1595.
Thank you to everyone who has already taken part in the ward surgeries. Your feedback helps Eastleigh Town Council work together with residents to make our communities even better places to live.
